Helpoin tapa käynnistää irssi uudelleenkäynnistyksen jälkeen on lisätä crontabiin (crontab -e) käsky:
@reboot /usr/bin/screen -d -m irssi
-d -m
Start screen in “detached” mode. This creates a new session but doesn’t attach to it. This is useful for system startup scripts.

After trying hard to upgrade PEAR 1.3.2 to latest with the build in upgrade tool
pear upgrade pear
on my own Debian 3.1 (Sarge) I got the following error message so many times I can’t count:
pinion:/# pear upgrade PEAR

Segmentation fault
I came across this workaround:
pear upgrade http://pear.php.net/get/PEAR-1.3.3.tgz
pear upgrade Archive_Tar
pear upgrade PEAR
pear upgrade-all

That was the last message my Irssi said before I terminated it on the long serving host htklx2.htk.fi.
I received a message from the superuser of htklx2 on October 31st telling they are closing the server down because the volunteering team of admins has been transferred into new positions inside HPO my old ISP.
So here is my thank you for team taking care of the server very well. You’ve served us, the humble users, very well, sad it has to end like this.
I’ve been a user since June 7th of 2002 and I haven’t had anything to complain about.
